The American rating agency Fitch Ratings has affirmed the long-term issuer default rating (IDR) of Turkmenistan in foreign currency at the level of "B+" with a "Stable" outlook.

President Berdimuhamedov, speaking at an extended meeting of the country's Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, called the development of the oil and gas industry and innovations in the processing of hydrocarbons the main directions of Turkmenistan's economic growth.

Turkmenistan may increase swap supplies of natural gas to Azerbaijan through Iran, and negotiations on this topic are currently underway between representatives of the relevant departments. 

The state concern "Turkmenneft" will receive more than 250 million manats for diversification and expansion of its capacities. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution on lending to the oil concern during a working meeting on Monday.

EU countries are interested in increasing natural gas imports through the Southern Gas Corridor (YGC) to prevent further jumps in blue fuel prices in the European market.

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez said that increasing the capacity of the Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP) is on the agenda.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held talks with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, according to the website of the Foreign Ministry of the People's Republic of China.

Turkmenistan's oil production plan in January was 100.4%, and its processing was 108.3%.

Turkmenistan increased electricity exports by more than 33% in January 2022 compared to January 2021. 

India is a close and important partner for Turkmenistan, said President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov at a virtual India-Central Asia virtual summit on Thursday.
