Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Pakistan's State Oil Minister Musadiq Malik discussed joint energy projects. During the talks in Ashgabat on Tuesday, they touched upon the topic of expanding trade and economic relations and concretized its energy aspects, it was reported in the evening news release of the Turkmen State Television.

The promotion of joint projects – the transnational Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the laying of power transmission lines and fiber-optic communication TAP – were discussed today in Ashgabat by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and State Minister of Oil of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Musadiq Masood Malik, the information program “Watan” of Turkmen television reported.

The company from Singapore made a deal to procure 150 thousand tons of urea grade B for $42.4 million during the Monday trades at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (SCRMET).

Turkmenbashi Oil Refinery, Turkmenistan’s major oil processing plant, produced more than 811 thousand tons of gasoline in the first half of this year.

Uzbekistan has expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan in the energy sector, including the import of electricity, gas and oil products from the country.

The world's first plant for the production of gasoline from natural gas, built in the Akhal region of Turkmenistan, fulfilled the plan by 120.8% over the past six months.

A new ultra–deep well - 7,300 meters – has been drilled at the Uzynada oil and gas field in the coastal zone of the Caspian Sea (Esengulyi district of the Balkan region). It is expected that this will expand the explored boundaries of the oil deposit, which experts previously estimated at about 5 million tons. 

Scientists of the Research Institute of Natural Gas of the State Concern "Turkmengaz" are developing solutions to the problem of the Darvaza crater. The task of extinguishing it and stopping the harmful emissions resulting from gas leakage and combustion was set by the government of the country for the specialists of the oil and gas complex in January of this year.

The Government of Turkmenistan and the European Union are preparing a high–level meeting that will be devoted to strengthening cooperation in the environmental sphere - reducing methane emissions, using the possibilities of hydrogen and "Green Transition". 

Climate change is no longer a problem for the future - it is a problem "now", said Dmitry Shlapachenko, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, at the OGT 2022 meeting on innovative technologies and know-how in the field of hydrocarbon production and emission reduction.
