On January 22, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Ken Saito, during which the parties expressed their focus on strengthening trade and economic ties between Turkmenistan and Japan.  Following the meeting, a number of documents on cooperation were signed, according to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.


 At the same time, the importance of long-term development of the partnership was emphasized, taking into account the presence of political will, broad economic potential and mutual understanding.

The Avaza power plant exceeded the electricity generation plan for 2023

The staff of the Avaza State Power Plant in the National Tourist Zone of Turkmenistan of the same name exceeded the electricity generation plan last year, writes the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.


The power engineers of the station, which provides electricity to hotels, sanatoriums and recreation and health centers in the tourist area, transferred more than 1 billion 133 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to consumers, fulfilling the annual plan by 104%.

The Proect of Investment Program of Turkmenistan for 2024 was presented at a meeting of the Turkmen government on Friday, January 19. Deputy Chairman Baymyrat Annamammedov reported on this agenda item. 


In particular, the Investment Program for 2024 includes such projects as construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, a new airport in the Balkan region, a combined power plant with a capacity of 1,574 MW, the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway, a bridge over Garabogaz Bay, and the second phase of Arkadag city.

Gumdag field oil production up 15%

Employees of one of the oldest oilfields in Turkmenistan have reported on the results of black gold production at Gumdag wells last year. The figures show that in general oil production at the field increased by 15.5% compared to 2022, the Turkmenistan newspaper reported.


In total, specialists were able to produce about 580.8 thousand tons of oil, exceeding the production plan by 12.6%. In the first month of the new year, Turkmen oil workers plan to increase production of not only black gold, but also natural gas.

2023: Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan Transport 17.4% of Oil via Baku

The total volume of oil transit from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline in 2023 accounted for 17.4 percent of the entire pumping volume.


The transit oil from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan accounted for  5.2 million tonnes, the Interfax-Azerbaijan reported on Friday, citing the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.

33 transactions were registered at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week.


Entrepreneurs from the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Scotland, Afghanistan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan purchased polypropylene and aviation kerosene produced at the technological installations of the SC «Turkmennebit» for foreign currency.  Representatives of the UAE business community also purchased urea produced by the SC «Turkmenchemistry».

Turkmenistan-Afghanistan Partnership Fuels Momentum for TAPI Project

Muhammetmyrat Amanov, CEO of TAPI Pipeline Company Ltd, alongside Hoja Ovezov, Turkmenistan's Ambassador, and Shahabuddin Delawar, Afghanistan's Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, convened in Herat to initiate practical work within the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) project.


Discussions spanned the TAPI transnational gas pipeline project's significance, land allocation for pipeline construction, and dispatching a technical team from Turkmenistan to Kabul, the Afghan Ministry of Mines and Petroleum reported.
