The President of Turkmenistan visited the country's largest gas field - Galkynysh - during a working trip to the Mary region on Monday, January 3. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also got acquainted with the prospects for the development of new deposits discovered in this area. For their industrial development, proposals have been prepared taking into account the environmental component. The director of the Scientific-research institute of natural gas under the State Concern “Turkmengas”, the chairman of the State Corporation "Turkmengeology" and the head of the State Concern "Turkmengas" reported to the President on these and other projects. The final report was made by Deputy Prime Minister Shahym Abdrahmanov, who is responsible for the fuel and energy complex in the government. He presented the current information on the growth of production in the industry and its export promotion. The Galkynysh field, the reserves of which, together with the nearby Yashlar and Garakol deposits, are estimated at 27.4 trillion cubic meters, are currently being developed in the context of specific projects with a focus on long-term cooperation.
