President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held the first meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the coming year through a digital system. Issues of state development were discussed at the meeting, reports the TDH news agency.

During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov reported on the Work Plan of the sectoral departments of the oil and gas complex for the current year.

According to the plan, the state concerns “Turkmengas” and “Turkmennebit” are tasked with developing new oil and gas fields, increasing the production of natural and associated gas, oil and gas condensate. It is also planned to increase the production of liquefied gas and the export of Turkmen energy resources to foreign markets.

The State Corporation "Turkmengeology" should focus its efforts on searching for new oil and gas bearing formations, solid minerals and groundwater, as well as on the introduction of advanced exploration technologies.

In addition to creating new jobs, the plan provides for staff training and measures to attract young specialists to scientific activities in the oil and gas industry.

Summing up the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that thanks to the successful implementation of energy policy, the oil and gas sector, which is the engine of the national economy, is dynamically developing and improving.

In this regard, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to approach the solution of the most important tasks of the fuel and energy complex in 2024 with special responsibility.
