President of Turkmenistan and the State Minister of oil of Pakistan discussed the progress of TAPI and TAP

The promotion of joint projects – the transnational Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the laying of power transmission lines and fiber-optic communication TAP – were discussed today in Ashgabat by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and State Minister of Oil of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Musadiq Masood Malik, the information program “Watan” of Turkmen television reported.

The implementation of these large-scale projects in the fields of energy and communications is designed to promote sustainable socio-economic development of the entire region, its successful integration into the system of world economic relations, strengthening regional peace and stability.

As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, Turkmenistan, which has an impressive hydrocarbon potential, consistently implements an energy strategy focused on diversifying energy supplies to world markets.

In this regard, it was emphasized that Pakistan fully supports the constructive foreign policy of neutral Turkmenistan and its international initiatives in the field of ensuring global energy security.

At the end of the meeting, the Head of state and his guest expressed confidence in the further progressive development of traditional bilateral cooperation, which has received new dynamics and content in recent years.
