On April 8, Turkmen leader Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree appointing Ashyrguly Begliev as Advisor to the President on oil and gas issues.
The President also signed a resolution, according to which the positions of advisers on oil and gas and agricultural issues were introduced – «in order to further improve the work carried out in the country in the oil and gas and agricultural sectors in accordance with the requirements of the time».
The head of the state announced this decision last Friday at a government meeting at which the results of the country's socio-economic development for the 1st quarter of 2022 were summed up.
Ashirguly Begliev previously worked in various senior positions in the oil and gas sector. From 2015 to 2017, he headed the State Concern «Turkmengas». Prior to that, he worked as Deputy Director of the State Agency for the Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan.
