President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held talks with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, according to the website of the Foreign Ministry of the People's Republic of China.

Turkmenistan is ready to develop cooperation with China in the field of natural gas supplies, including working on the construction of branch D of the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline, the Turkmen leader said.

Berdimuhamedov noted that thanks to joint efforts, cooperation between the states has made significant progress and has brought significant benefits to the peoples of both countries.

The Chinese side is ready to work on deepening cooperation with Turkmenistan to form even more constructive and dynamically developing cooperation, the PRC President said.

Among the priority areas of cooperation, Xi Jinping called the expansion of cooperation in the oil and gas sector to bring it to a new level, as well as the coordination of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative with Turkmenistan's strategy to revive the Great Silk Road.

The President of China stressed that over the 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the Turkmen-Chinese cooperation has contributed to many high achievements. China is a reliable friend and partner for Turkmenistan, no matter how the international situation changes, Xi Jinping said.
