Turkmenistan is ready to start exporting gas to Kazakhstan

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan took part in an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States on the situation in Kazakhstan. The meeting of the heads of the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Hungary was held at the initiative of the Turkish side, currently presiding in the Organization. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi informed his colleagues about the current situation in the country and the measures taken by her government to resolve the situation as soon as possible. The diplomats expressed deep condolences over the loss of life during the clashes in Kazakhstan and reaffirmed their solidarity with the brotherly country. Rashid Meredov, speaking at the meeting, stressed that Turkmenistan is interested in the soonest normalization of the situation in Kazakhstan, in its further stable socio-political and socio-economic development of Kazakhstan. He expressed his firm conviction that qualities such as wisdom, foresight, deep respect for the customs and traditions of the ancient Kazakh people will serve as a solid basis for resolving all emerging issues in the constitutional and legal field and in accordance with international norms. Expressing the wishes of peace and prosperity to the people of Kazakhstan, Rashid Meredov assured that Turkmenistan will make every necessary effort to achieve this goal. Turkmenistan is ready to begin export deliveries of natural gas to Kazakhstan starting from March of this year, and in addition, to provide the fraternal country with the necessary amount of electricity, the head of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan said.
