European Bank for Reconstruction and Development implements more than 20 projects in Turkmenistan

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is implementing 22 projects in Turkmenistan. The country has been a member of the EBRD since 1 June 1992, and since then the bank has implemented 87 different projects in Turkmenistan. This was announced by Deputy Chairman and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov during a government meeting, TDH reported.


Currently, Turkmenistan has established close contacts with the EBRD in the field of investment and lending, including in the textile industry, agriculture, transport and logistics, private sector.


The Minister stressed that one of the priority areas of Turkmenistan's foreign policy course is strengthening cooperation with the European Union, and in this context, building up cooperation with European financial institutions is an important issue.
